Dolomit is thrilled to announce that has joined the Institute of International Education’s Generation Study Abroad initiative to help more Americans to gain international experience through study abroad programs. IIE’s Generation Study Abroad seeks to mobilize resources and commitments with the goal of doubling the number of U.S. students studying abroad by the end of the decade.

As of April 2016, Generation Study Abroad partners include over 400 colleges and universities of all sizes and types across the country and around the world; 16 governments; 25 education associations; more than 100 international partners; 100 study abroad, K-12, and social network organizations. Adherents have committed to specific goals to increase the number of U.S. students studying abroad, including actions to diversity the population of students who participate in study abroad and provide additional financial resources to make this possible.

Dolomit’s pledge to the Generation Study Abroad initiative entails the commitment to make available to U.S. students and faculty a new, very distinctive area of the world – the Alpine region of Trentino and its surroundings – in a traditionally attractive destination for study abroad programs – Italy. Building on the specific features and identity of our territory, we aim at attracting traditionally underrepresented segments of the student population through innovative learning experiences in applied humanities and social sciences, sustainability and environmental studies, and natural sciences, with the inclusion of relevant outdoor activities and sports in the curriculum. Finally, Dolomit is also committed to focus on short-term and faculty-led programs, in order to make education abroad more accessible and affordable to students, as well as more compatible with the specific needs and goals of U.S. academic institutions.

We are proud to be part of such an impacting initiative and look forward to give our contribution to its success!
