Without hesitation, when people ask what my favorite part of the trip to Italy was, I tell them that hiking in the Dolomites and staying overnight in a rifugio was the most memorable experience. As great as it was to see St. Peter’s and wander the streets of Venice, there was something even more amazing, to me at least, about arriving at our destination and realizing that we had climbed above the clouds. Arduous at times, our journey through the Dolomites was an adventure made even better by the people it was spent with. Having the chance to learn from those who live in the area and hearing their passion for the region was incredible. At the rifugio, eating a hearty meal and meeting travelers from various parts of the world was very memorable as well. I could say a lot more about the Dolomites, but words are just not enough. Seeing for yourself the beauty that those mountains have to offer is an experience I would recommend to anyone considering the study abroad program in Torbole with Dolomit.
